- Shoes beautifully embroidered at the heel and tow. A gold tablion is on the front and back of the cloak.
- Abstract:
- Essentially Roman is form, Byzantine dress looks totally new. Garments include the kneelength tunica tolaris, the pallium, and the paludamentum, which is now decorated with the tablion. Gradually, through the seventh century, the toga becomes very narrow. Fabrics are rich and brilliant in color. Shoes are soft, without soles, and decorated at the heel and toe.
